CLASS T-SHIRTS

All 5th graders will receive a Class of 2026 t-shirt, signed by all of their classmates, which they will wear on Service Day, the Class Outing, and the Moving Up Ceremony. An email will be sent at the end of March to collect your student’s t-shirt size. T-Shirts will be distributed by classroom teachers in advance of Service Day.

SERVICE DAY - TBD

In collaboration with the 5th Grade teachers, students will participate in a service project supporting organizations in the local Concord community. Students will choose from four projects and will volunteer for approximately 3 hours during the morning portion of their school day. An email will be sent after April break with additional information including organization choices, chaperones and permission slips. This event will be held rain or shine. Students will wear their 5th grade t-shirts on this day.

CLASS OUTING - TBD, Kimball Farm

Students will enjoy a fun-filled day at Kimball Farm in Westford, MA, featuring mini-golf, bumper boats, bumper cars, and the driving range. Lunch and ice cream will be provided. Buses will take students to the outing and will return before the end of the school day. An email will be sent after April break with additional information, including lunch choices, chaperones and permission slips. This event will be held rain or shine. Students will wear their 5th grade t-shirts on this day.

PARENT SOCIAL - TBD

Parents of 5th graders are invited to mix and mingle as we celebrate our children's amazing years at Willard! The social will be held at the home of TBD. Tickets are $25 per person and include beer, wine and an assortment of fabulous desserts. Additional details will be shared in an email coming mid-May. We’re looking forward to a fun evening of catching up and celebrating together before the school year winds down!

MOVING UP CEREMONY - TBD

Parents are invited to the Willard Auditorium to hear speeches given by each 5th grade student, followed by a pictorial slideshow highlighting their years at Willard. After the program, students and families will head outside to enjoy cake. Students will leave for the day with their parent(s). Yearbooks will be distributed the morning of the Moving Up Ceremony.

Please note that each student is limited to two guests for this event due auditorium capacity.  This ceremony is always held on the second to last day of school and will move if there are additional snow days. Students will wear their 5th grade t-shirt on this day.

CLAP OUT - TBD

Parents will arrive at Willard and line up to "clap out" their 5th graders as they leave Willard for the last time. Students will parade through the building and exit through the front door, while family members line up outside along the parade route. 5th graders will be dismissed right after the clap out.

Please note that the Clap Out is always the last day of school and will move if there are additional snow days.

Supporting Our 5th Grade Celebrations

Please note that these events and activities are only made possible through the Willard PTG's Annual Appeal. At this time, 31% of 5th grade families have contributed. On average, the PTG funds approximately $90 per 5th grade student for end-of-year celebrations, in addition to the $150 spent per student throughout the school year.

Your support helps ensure that every student enjoys a well-deserved and exciting culmination of their time at Willard. If you have not yet donated and would like to, or would like to make an additional contribution, please use the button below. Check out the Willard Giving Tree as it continues to grow. If you have any questions regarding the Annual Appeal, please email annualappeal@willardptg.org. We truly appreciate your generosity and for helping to make this an unforgettable year!
